Chelsea robbed?
I'm not a Chelsea supporter, haven't been able to cope with them since Tommy Docherty was in charge.
I missed the game last night, but saw Hiddink being interviewed afterwards, and he was asked if he thought that UEFA didn't want two English clubs in the final. His answer would have done any politician proud. The inference, from the TV people, is that they certainly think there was some king of agenda. Looking at the penalty appeals, seems to me that they may be right.
Anybody else have any views?

I saw what was on the telly this morning. The way that the Chelski players behaved after the game (especially that oaf, Drogba), I can see why UEFA wouldn't want a bunch of riffs like that polluting a cultured city like Rome.
So maybe there is something in what you say, SJP.
Just a thought.

There was no plot against Chelsea. The referee was poor to both sides evenly.
Barcelona had a player sent off when no contact was made. Anelka trip over his own feet but didn't own up. Barcelona played most of the second half with 10 men. They failed however to take advantage of that huge help from the officials.
Two of the four penalty calls were legitimate. Ironically, the Drogba one should have been given, but he dives so much you can understand a referee thinking it was 'simulation'.
The scenes from the Chelsea players at the end were appauling and I hope the club is punished, and Drogba, who completely lost it, is given a 3 match ban.

I cannot believe all the hype over this, are they just bad losers?
Would there had been as much hype had it not been a London team?
It would have been nice if two English clubs had got through, but as it has already been said, this is football.
If one is to go down the conspiracy route, it makes one wonder if more games are fixed, not just because they do not want two English teams to be in the final as in this case, but for a more serious reason of financial gain?

Funny this, Mr Ovrebo went out of his way to send off Abidal for absolutely nothing, and all the Chelsea players and fans reckon he was completely anti chelsea? If you cant put a side away in 90 minutes without relying on 50/50 penelty decisions then you dont deserve to be in the final!
Chelsea fans need to get a life, you lost, take it like men and better luck next year.
Drogba and Ballack should get bans for the way they behaved, and John Terry should be banned for life for crying 2 years in a row.

If Drogba hadn't feigned injury there wouldn't have been so much extra time.
Of the four pens - Malouda's was on the edge and a judgement call it looks it on replays - the ref dosen't have replays.
Drogbas maybe if he hadn't taken a dive on every football ground he ever played at he may have got it, but it was a close call.
Pique's his hand was high but did he move his hand, I would say this should have been - but then so should the one against Henry in the Nou Camp.
E'to's an absoloute joke to even claim for it, it came off his shoulder blade.
Barcalona had 71% possession they both had 9 shots and only" four of Chelseas were on target.
The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It's nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It's about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom - Danny Blanchflower
At least we shouldn't be bored to death in the final now.

Do you think Chelski or Cheatski should be punished for the way they behaved after the game? why is it that when they cheat their way to win a game...they say alot of positive stuff, such as they played really well etc, but when they lose they cry or reach boiling point! bad losers!
i think they should be banned from playing in Europe next season! now wouldn't that be funny???

Most of the Chelski players were a disgrace, not only to their club and football in general, but to the human race with their behavious after the game.
Over the two legs the better team won - yes, the referee was poor and made bad decisions, but it worked two ways - Barca had a man sent off unjustly and should have had a penalty in the first leg, whereas Chelski had justifiable claims for two penalties in the second leg.
Chelski doesn't have as much history or European pedigree as their bigger rivals from up North, so I suppose that makes it harder to swallow for their "faithful" fans! Get over it!

Yes the referee was terrible, as they can sometimes be, but the are highly-paid professionals and their behaviour was ludicrous. They helped to ensure their exit was as undignified as it can get. That said, like most other non-Chelsea supporters I find the whole thing hilarious - it's wonderful seeing them get knocked out. I should probably be supporting the English team against foreign opposition but I can't bring myself to do it with Chelsea. I'm mentally willing Everton to win the FA Cup - the idea of Chelsea emerging from this season with no major honours is deeply satisfying. Unfortunately though, I doubt Everton will win.
And as for the UEFA conspiracy theory - utter rubbish, like all conspiracy theories.
