Manual non-electric treadmills?
4 Answers
Hello I have a full blown electric top of the line treadmill at home but now I am marathon training I spend long times burning money through the electricity it consumes.
I have seen some manual treadmills in argos so I know they still do them, but how are they doing these days, has the performance improved? I have never actually owned a manual, so I dont really know much about them. I think I stood on one once though and I could feel all the runners underneath my feet - not very good quality.
Any information, views, advice gratefully received thanks in advance.

Manual treadmills are hard to get going, so could strain your joints, particularly knee and ankle. They are okay when they are moving, but you can't adjust the incline while you are moving - so it's stop/start.
As already suggested, get outside running if you possibly can, and save your treadmill for warming up and short sprints when time is a factor.
