Ford Fiesta 1999 Window Winder

Does anyone know how on earth I get this off so I can remove a door panel...it is for a front door....Logic dictates that I would remove the bit in the middle but try as I might I cant get it to come off...ther must be another way...

Any advice greatly appreciated..

Don't know about Fords, but on the Vauxhall Astra it is held on with a spring clip.

This is a clip a bit like a rounded off U shape, but with the tips splayed out.

The official, impossible way is to hook a tool round the top bit and pull it out.

The unofficial but effective way is to put a bit of rag around the gap and pull it backwards and forwards. Eventually it catches on the splayed out tips and the clip rises out.

im sure its as you say panic button, push the door trim away from the handle and you should see the spring clip, then just hook it out ,putting it back is so easy, just put the clip on the handle and push it on.
Bet you break or loose it , common occurance...

there is a tool specifically to remove ford window winder, available from any auto shop, about a fiver.
