I have a car parked outside my house on double yellow lines and is out of tax since october 2008 this is very annoying! It is an eye sore is there anything I can do to get it shifted?

Ring the police, they can lift that on behalf of the DVLA.

If you smash the window and ring the police and say that kids are hanging about and you are scared incase they set it on fire, they will shift it instantly.

Dont know where you live, but both of the last two boroughs i have lived in, have had a "report abandoned vehicles" number/section on their website, where you make a report, then they investigate and arrange removal.
Look up your council website, and do a search for abandoned vehicles.
