Wish I'd gone there. I made the mistake of going to Boots. It cost me 253.

my god,it cost me fifty quid
It's even cheaper at Glasses Direct (online). No-one in their right mind goes to the High Street for specs anymore. Far too expensive.
Yeh, I've learnt my lesson. Won't do that again!
wish I'd gone to specsavers instead of the bloody plumbers merchants...........cost me 1000.00.......
I told SS I didn't want two pairs and said what can you do?

They said 25% off then Mr. B.

Kim, how do Glasses Direct test your eyes, and measure the distance between your pupils?

They don.t test your eyes. You go to an optician and get them done, asking the optician to measure your eyes as part of the test (they seem perfectly happy to do this for you if you ask them). You then go online, have a look at the glasses on offer and see if you fancy any of them. You can then upload a photo of yourself and try the glasses on your face AND you can have four pairs (for a fiver deposit) to try at home. When you're happy, you send the optician's prescription back to Glasses Direct with the trial pairs of specs and they make up whatever ones you've chosen with your prescription. My husband's just done it and he's been really pleased with the service, the price and quality and the speed of delivery. I'm waiting for my four trial pairs now. They knock off the fiver deposit cost from your bill when you order a set of glasses from them.
