remove mobile logo

hi can anyone tell me if its possible without having to pay a fee, if i could get rid of my t-mobile logo and replace it with something else.  I have a data cable and tried downloading operator logos to my phone and still the t-mobile logo remains. I have gone to settings and the operator logo is set to OFF.  This was originally an O2 contract phone that my daughter used she then gave it to me and it is now being used by another network "T-Mobile"  and its showing up straight across the screen.............so annoying any help out there would be appreciated.
