So many TV and radio programmes seem to endorse text messages for absolutely anything, especially radio, just this morning about 13000 people sent a text to a radio station to decide whether to play 'we'll never walk alone'. Do these shows get any incentives / commissions for all of this extra revenue from the mobile companies, they must make a fortune from this??

without even seeing your question I have just asked a similar one regarding premium rate competions that are always easy. I think they must make a small cut on texts even if it is a standard charge text and have a deal with all the phone companies because they know that 13000+ will text. sometimes you see text cost 25p plus standard charge which is obviously a profit
