my student has given her homework as a .CMP file. Can anyone advise how to open it?

It seems to be many things from a picture to an Open Access file. I would get in touch with her and ask her to send it in a more standard format.

There are plenty of free programs that can convert word processing files into PDF files. Then they can be read by the free Adobe Reader.

Maybe you could suggest all your students give in their homework in PDF format.

PDF995 is one program they can use, and it is VERY easy to do.
