Lavender in Poland

I am considering buying a lavender bush for my mum who lives in Poland, but seeing as there can be minus 20 in winter, I am wondering if it is a good idea.

I don't know much about Polish weather year round but do know that lavender is originally from the Meditteranean and therefore likes dry, sunny conditions and well drained soil. It is a hardy shrub in the UK but don't know if it'd be so at such low temperature.

If your mum has space inside, maybe in a conservatory, perhaps it'd be best off grown in a large pot and bought inside over winter.

Grow it in a pot and take it inside over the winter. It's what I do with mine.

do as the others say put it in a large pot with good drainage..when it starts to get cold the end of october here ..tell her to cut it back keep indoors no where to hot and water occasionally..and give it a feed for the spring ready to start growing again..wont you have restrictions taking lavender to another country??as they are a bit strict on plants and seeds..
