moving from sky to freesat but retain sky+

as above i am dropping sky soon and moving to freesat but dont want to shell out on new recorders. do i have to pay the �10 to retain sky+ or is there a way round it?
also has anyone seen freesat recorders for a more reasonable price than �250?

Note there is a Freesat from Sky, and a Freesat from BBC/ITV.

They are NOT the same thing, and dont pick up the same channels.

The Freesat from BBC/ITV does not pick up ANY Sky channels.

If you already have Sky dish and box you can stop paying the monthly Sky payment and just take their freesat, but I think you lose the Sky+ services.

And Sky Freesat does not offer HD.

im thinking ive got no choice but to tick with sky for sky+ functionality only.
