I ought to of mentioned in my question below that I have tried using the fn+f7 to turn the pad on and off and it appears up on the screen when switched on or off but does still not work?

My touchpad now works,not!
It was my first post, so cut some slack.

no it's still not working . Cant work out how to select things with out the pad to try and get to device manager

Have you tried using the up/down arrows on your keyboard?

To open device manager:

Windows logo key (on the bottom row) with pause/break (top row)

That should open your system properties. Using the arrow keys navigate to Hardware, then press Alt with d

I am now using a usb mouse and that works fine, so I can navigate around with no problems, there are no conflicts on the devices.Touchpad still not working, still need help please!
