hi, im trying to format a 20gb hard disk that ive been given ,using fdisk to delete the partitions on it ,ive deleted the primary DOS partition but i have 74% of the disk which is EXT DOS , which when i try to delete it ,it says "cannot delete extended DOS partition while logical drive exists "
ive gone through all the delete options and none of them seem to work ,so does anyone know what i need to do?
any advice much appreciated.

Usually because the DOS/Win version would not support partitions lager than 4-5 Gig. The drive letter (possibly d or e) needs to be deleted before fdisk will remove the partition.
I found it easier in the past to use a non-DOS partitioner like Novelle to remove stubborn partitions and then use DOS fdisk to partition and format.
