It depends on even more than that too.

If it's a regular digital camera shooting jpeg images, and you just took photos of clean blue sky, then it'll probably hold even more!

all of the above, and then there is the knotty question of how many you want to take, and of what sort of quality. The latter and former are inversely proportional to each other; that is, the greater the quality you require, the fewer you will be able to take and store. On my own camera with 2GB card I can take about 2500 low grade or 550 high grade pictures....and all points in between for the varying qualities. You should be able to adjust this infinitely if you look hard enough. Suggest reading the handbook!
