Blackbirds

We have two baby fledgling blackbirds on our lawn being fed by their parents, surely this is too early in the year for the babies to have been born, fed in the nest and now being weaned anyone else noticed this in their gardens?

I kept my eye on it and watched it trying so hard to take flight, Then one of the parents came and was on the fence shouting at it. It got dark so parent bird left and i was happy to know this baby blackbird was sheltering behind 2 plantpots - i looked when i got up at 5.50 and it was gone. Hopefully with its mam ....
I really didn't realise they left the nest and spent few days on the ground until they can fly.

A juvenile came in to our conservatory this week. It hadn't the sense or experience of the parents. They venture in but have the sense to exit via the open doorway they came in by ! This youngster took fright and then took refuge in a bush inside, where it stayed as though satisfied it was hidden from view. I had to creep out and open all doors and windows. After a few minutes it left. So, yes, there are deifinitely youngsters about !
not sure about the blackbirds, as have only seen the parents in my garden... but think they nest elsewhere.
Absolutely loads of starlings and their chicks - very funny to watch.
Unfortunately cats seem to like coming in my garden in spite of the fact that my dog will kill them if she gets them! Had to hiss at one tonight (my dog went berserk but I wouldnt let her out!)
Nature is a wonderful thing - let it be..... as it knows more about what it is doing than we ever will :-)
