Sooty was my fave. I knew him personally you might say. My auntie lived in the same road as the Corbetts and sooty used to sit in the window and wave at us.

remember when they had the indoor tv aerial in the 60's and you had to have them hanging from the wall , tilted to the left change channel loose picture.
my dad was a radio/tv engineer and we had tele in 1950, a tiny scree in a big dark wood cabinet with 2 huge tuning knobs on the front, one of my earlier memories is seeing an advert for the first time,it was for Gibbs SR toothpaste in 1955, I remember just sitting waiting for this exiting new phenomen, now I could screammm,,,lol
yes I did Dr, and the Queens Coronation too, and the Concordes maiden flight, I loved that plane, I saw it in Paris's GDG airport about 7 years ago, the French one was just about to be decommisioned then, it was tiny, but so graceful

I remember Torchy. When I was a girl there used to be a man in the cinema who would walk up and down the aisle with a torch in his hand and if you were up to no good he would shine his torch on you. We always used to sing 'Torchy Torchy the battery boy ' and he would go mad flashing his torch and threatening to throw you out.
How times have changed ;-)
Was great to watch the Muffin the Mule clip DrFilth.
