Hi,
I want to sell my car in a few months and I think it is due a service. I was wondering if I can get a service done at any garageordo I have to go to a specialise garage, i.e. I've got a Volkswagen so do I go to a Volkswagen garage???
Thanks in advance x

The newer the car, the more benefit value wise there is in going to a dealer to keep the service history desireable. If the car is very old, you may as well go to a non approved garage.
With my last car, i kept it with ford until it was in its 4th year, and after that, took it to a local garage.
As a rule of thumb, if it still has parts under warranty, it is better to go dealer. After that, its not as important.

Hi, what year is your car? does the book say its due a service? why don't you put the car up for sale as it stands & state if the buyer wants the car serviced there will be an extra cost thus saving you money. a lot of people do not go for the service details unless the car has covered a lot of miles. In other words save yourself some money.
