What is the best and safest way to clean vertical blinds which I have in my kitchen?

depends on the fabric I would think. I gave up on fiddling about with mine and started putting them in washing machine on very low temperature delicates wash, without spin. Works just fine.

I clean my blinds in the washing machine on low temp, delicate wash, DO NOT ADD FABRIC CONDITIONER!! After you have washed blinds you just hang them back up still damp. Remember to put the weights in the bottom of the blind while damp!!

It really does depend on the fabric. I got mine from http://www.soeasyblinds.co.uk and they are washable. Have a look on their website to see if you can find your fabric to find out if yours are washable.
