Towels

Morning All,

When you stop over at someones house, (not someone you've stayed with before and not a romantic interest), are you supposed to bring your own towels?

It's just occured to me while writing my 'to pack' list as I've not stayed overnight with anyone who isn't a close friend or a family member in years and I normally just raid their airing cupboard if I need a towel!

i always take my own as i need one of a specific size for my hair and a bathrobe for me - its an ocd thing.

but staying at a friend of a friend once who very kindly put some towels out for me and i got out of the shower to find they were the size of a hanky and i had to dash through a their house with a hanky covering my bits whilst their 16 year old son got an eyeful

taught me a lesson

Your "hosts" should put a small "bathroom" pile on the end of your bed. Even though you will have your own toiletries, they should put out ...

Big towel
Small towel
Facecloth
New bar of soap
Toothbrush (still packaged)
Toothpaste

The toothbrush and toothpaste because guests quite often forget to pack them. Anything you don't use should be left neatly on the bedside table when you leave.

That's what I do with the exception of soap (I don't own any bars of soap, just the liquid stuff by the sink) and toothbrush. (You can buy travel size tooth brush and toothpaste in the boots five minutes up the road for emergencies).

How rude.
We ALWAYS have towels for guests who are staying(and clean towels too for day guests,for their hands)we even put out face flannels(new) along with three sizes of towels,to include large bath size.

Could it be an age thing?
We are an old (and fussy!LOL) couple,and try to do things "nicely".
Maybe this sort of manners has disappeared with very young people?

Not an age thing no, I've always done the same thing myself. Maybe I won't pack a towel then... But then I don't want to have to ask either.
