I bought a perenniel wallflower last year; This year it's grown to four times it's size and although very pretty the stems have gone very woody. Can anyone tell me if this has to be cut back in the autumn. I'd be very grateful for any help.

I'd cut it back now to get lots of nice growth before the autumn.
