Hi I was just ambling around my BT Homehub's router page, and under Configuration=>Devices, I noticed that there were a couple of unfamilar devices attached to my home network. One was named "Wavey-Davey", and the other named "Unknown-00-25-48-16-fe-92".
Does this suggest one or more people have compromised my router's security, and more importantly will they have access to my computer and internet banking details?
Were they wireless connections? If you have signed up to BT Broadband Anywhere (think thats what its called) I'm sure you have to "open up" your router so that others can use it - try having a look on the BT website. From what I remember reading about it, it doesn't compromise security, just allows others to pick up on your network.
Are they logged into your router or is it that your router is picking up other routers in range (neighbours) does your homehub have a padlock or key symbol when you look at your connection?
Hi people, thanks for your replies... sorry it's taken me so long to respond, but in addition, my router has now given up the ghost altogether, so now I cannot access the internet at all.... A lengthy call to BT's helpline in india awaits when I have some time off work!
But thank-you again, and I will still need to tap your knowlege when I am back online.
