Congratulations! It's nice to know real people still win the thing. I've had no success since 1,715 in 2005 - �20, and I've spend a lot more than that on second class stamps since.

Finished this one while watching rugby on the tv, but perplexed as to why the answer to 20d is what it is. Is there a word meaning "marbled" whose initial must be removed?

well done. i was also runner up a couple of weeks ago. I have been sending in this crossword for a long time. Every week without fail (apart from the occasional Xmas lapse) for at least 15 years.
I think i win or 'runner up' about once a year. So on that basis i think roughly 100-150 must send them in each week. any thoughts on that?
