I read a really good book about the compilation of the OED 1st Edition ... which took decades.

The editorial board received thousands of contributions from one man, who became the biggest contributor to the OED.

Unknown to the ed board, he had been writing to them from an insane asylum.

His contributions thousands of entries still form the backbone of the OED.

(I'm not suggesting that wbm is insane, by the way)

In the visitors book at the Heritage Centre there is an entry from about three years ago when we had a school party on the water for their project on the waterways. When asked what he thought of the boatride and seeing all the wildlife one little lad replied 'It's amazable'. I reckon that one should be in the dictionary!

We bought a guinea pig for my youngest son earlier this week.

He named her Su-Bo after Susan Boyle!!
