Carribean Theme Night

I am looking for ideas. As my birthday is in July and (hopefully) gonna be a warm sunny evening, thought about having a barbeque Carribean style. Apart from music (which is sorted) anybody got any ideas on decor, food, drink etc to make it a really authentic, fun night?

Get some coconuts, lop off the tops, tell your guests to drink some of the 'milk' and then add Appleton Estate Rum. After they're finished using their 'glasses' they can eat the rum-soaked 'meat'.

have you a " the joke box" typeshop in a shopping mall beside you I live just a stones throw from the Metro Centre,I did a charity night a couple of years ago in our local, you can get alsorts of stuff, lanterns lei's (floral garlands for necks ankles and wrists, Accessorize had large flowers on a comb for your hair, the list is endless, these things can be bought on line too mally, fold up palm trees,grass skirts, get the blokes to come in Hawiaan shirts and bermuda shorts, flip-flops and straw hats, the girls, a sarong with a swimsuit or bikini top,

All these are really great ideas, making tons of notes - fab, keep ideas coming. Its p**ing down right now and just thinking about it is making me feel better about doing it. Making a note to put up gazebos incase it does the usual British weather thing.
