mondeo fault

HELP have a ford mondeo 20L TDCI estate 52 plate.while towing my caravan back from the lake district the coil light came on got a dip in power then engine shut down,happend 6 times, after pulling over am able to turn engine off then turning it back on again clears fault, anyone any ideas before i pay a fortune at the ford garage.thanks KAYDL

I am presuming that when you say the coil light came on it is the diesel glow plug light I had the same thing happen on my focus diesel it was diagnosed as the throttle potentiometer I am guessing its the same system on the Mondeo as the Focus
