i have just been granted shared care by the courts for my son who is 8yrs, he lived with me fulltime untill june 08 when i started to suffer with mental health problems then he went and stayed with my mum and social services addvised my mother to go to court and get a residency order, which i have spent the last 11 months opposing and had a final court hearing last week and got shared care with my mum, i just wanted to find out now i have shared care with my mum are my parental rights stiil the same as before i became unwell? for got to mention i now have son living back with me and have a great realitionship with mymum. sorry for the long question and many thanks in advane. j

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.get your solicitor to discharge the residency! i had same situation and if things go off your mom or social can get a decision you make reverced. it's caused me untold problems because i didnt and social had backed my mom, i had mental probs too. good luck, i trust no one now due to what i went through.
thanks again for the replies, katiecarol i do not have a solicitor i felt that they were also against me, it is soo hard trying to fight a system that is so against me, i like your self trust no one not even my cpn, i will bring that up in court next week when i am there. the social worker at the min seems a bit more down to earth but the one before her was saying to me that she would bet her house on me not ever getting him back. it has been a hard year. hope things are looking better for you. julie x
