keep getting spam that appears to be coming from my own email address...??

Just recently i have been getting weird spam emails that are listed as coming from my own account...how are they doing this??
NB: i get mail from my yahoo account forwarded to my aol account....and it comes up in my aol inbox as from the yahoo account...

It's a simple matter to create an e-mail that appears to come from an address other than the true originator, and a very common practice among spammers to make it appear as though it's coming from the same address as the recipient.

e-mails are possibly accepted - but they are plain text - if they were any easier to intercept you'd have to send them directly to the spammers
the only "safe" mail is an encrypted mail

unfortunately we brits account for almost 20% of sales of spammed products as well has bootleg software ...
idiots are idiots the world over ... just we seem to have more than most
read the posts here ... a window came up - so I installed it ... �50 a month ... can't uninstall - detected 1000s of threats.
a mix of genuine newbies who won't get caught again ... and idiots who are on first name terms with most abers/
but safe? ... even your own machine isn't safe ... you could be infecting people as we speak with something you caught
