I agree with you 100%. Should the UK government have the right to monitor our every movement via camera in the street, even using facial recognition systems, tracking our searches on the web, listening to our landline and mobile conversations and monitoring our text messages. Should they be allowed to keep an arrest record on file for life even if you were released without charge and also keep our DNA and Fingerprints when arrested without charge. Most people take their privacy for granted and are only concerned about ID theft. Do you believe that the government should be able to invade your privacy using local council and the police along with over 100 other government bodies in the name of anti terror legislation.
Why are people so passive about their privacy? Its only when they have personally been effected that they rise.
ID cards are simply a way of generating more money for the government enabling them to link all the various bodies data together.
I also see that Terminal 5 at Heathrow are offering speedy boarding to any idiot that allows them to conduct a retinal scan. Anyone that does not not give their privacy a second thought should think again because there are many developers in this area that are exploiting privacy. These companies are installing access systems in to childrens nurseries up and down the country and local government are allowing it to happen in the name of security. Thousands of parents are allopwing their childrens privacy to be breached and they will only realise this when there kids are older and they have been exploited. This is yet another breach of our privacy and leads on to a stazzi state. I recently watched a dvd called "the lives of others" compelling watch and very much like what we are to expect should labour get their way. Keep spreading the word to make people protect their privacy.
