pruning bottle brush tree
2 Answers
I relocated my bottle brush tree to my back yard because it was not doing well. It is still not doing well and I need to know if I can prune some of it to help it along. Most of the leaves have turned brown and it has stopped blooming. What can I do to help it? It is still alive with some green leaves and most of the branches are still flexable. Thanks

As mentioned above it is not a good time to be moving shrubs. They grown in wet conditions in their native Australia and although can tolerate drought they do like to be wet.
Bottle Brush plants do not require much pruning and only needs to be done to retain a good shape. Only the young fresh growth should be pruned but this will reduce the amount of flowers as this is where they come from. The other way is to prune just after flowering to remove the dead heads.
