Chart CDs
Has anyone else noticed the trend for artists to 're-release' their current chart CDs with added 'bonus' tracks that weren't on the original CD? Why do they do it? Call me a skeptic, but isn't this just a con to get more money out of us?

This is just more blatant marketing scams to get money out of gullible punters.
You're absolutely right flirty - the fans buy the single when it is first released and then buy it again to get the extra tracks - which are normally the bad mixes that were originally dumped in the studio. The later releases are simply the record companies getting every penny from gullible punters. Don't stand for it!
Yes like The Stereophonics "Just Enough Education To Perform" re release with "Handbags And Gladrags" on it. Or Jamiroquai's re release of "A Funk Odessey" with a bonus disc with lots of remixes on it. It's a con, but record sales are down and they feel they've got to do everything they can to revive them. Dual CD Single releases get on my nerves as well. I don't mind the DVD singles though, as i feel they're good value. I recently paid 2.99 for a Coldplay DVD single that has one of the best videos on it - The Scientist.
