the builder and the plumber, earlier post. Both rang about 4pm , both with the same reason the van had broken down.

Do they use the same van, no of course they don't, so coincidence then!
They are both coming tomorrow, good for them,because that is the day I go out to see my son in the next town and won't be here.So hard luck.

I think I will be well off the team sheet by then.

unbelievable that in the current construction industry dip that people like them refuse to turn up for a job, they don't need the work, they'll let you down, so look elsewhere

Brenda - I know where you are coming from - when we moved into our bungalow 3 years ago, you just would'nt believe how hard it was to get quotes for building/plumbing work. NO-ONE SEEMS TO PHONE these days to apologise or if you leave a message on their answerphone - THEY NEVER GET BACK TO YOU grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!

In the end I got a geriatric plumber by the name of Les, who drove me insane - he was at my place 2 weeks putting a shower in - I nearly had to draw up adoption papers !!! - in the end the shower was still leaking, but I paid him and sent him on his way, just to retain my sanity.

No one wants the work these days - its a mystery.
