Another Biased Lefty running for speaker.......
After Gorbals Mick set new standards for bias and general incompetance in the job, do we really need another smarmy lefty refereeing, especially as it's a well known left wing trait that commies can't stand anyone who doesn't agree with their views?

"Labour ministers are plotting to install a Left-wing Tory MP hated by his own leaders as Commons Speaker.
Several senior members of the Cabinet have told the Mail they plan to back John Bercow in the race to succeed Michael Martin."

Now now R1Geezer, you know it is only people on the right of politics who are a problem.
Those on the left, like Stalin and Pol Pot, are fine honest leaders who look after the people in their country with much care and justice.
It is only those on the right, like Hitler, who are to be despised.
So when you get a couple of right wing politicians elected, like now, the existing politicians throw their hands up in horror.
The fact that some Labour politicians were communist in their youth is somehow forgotten.
Makes you wonder if the same outrage would have been shown if some communist MEPs had been elected.
After all, Stalin was communist (allegedly) and he probably killed more people than Hitler did, many his own countrymen.
Why is Hitler so reviled but not Stalin.

Two possible answers, VHG. One is the gas chambers. Had it not been for this uniquely horrific policy, Hitler would probably remembered as just another failed dictator.
Also: Hitler killed Brits, Stalin didn't. Isn't that reason enough for Brits to revile him?

I think he means Anne Widdecome
I agree with infundibulum though it should not be an MP but for a different reason.
I don't like Bercow much but he's a fairly good constituancy MP - mine in fact.
I don't see how an MP can still properly represent his constituants and be speaker.
You can make a similar but perhaps less pronounced case for cabinet ministers.
Needs a rethink

The Daily Telegraph:
John Bercow is the Speaker that Parliament is going to get but not the one it needs
John Bercow will almost certainly win the question is whether he will last.
