My mum has just emailed me asking me what I would like for my birthday. Thought you guys would know more than I do, so what do I want?

my birthday is coming up and my mum said to me yesterday 'you still havent told me what you want'. I always feel awkward asking for something specific and really would be nice if people were buying me something then to know me well enough to pick something as a surprise!! I don't think I am hard to shop for - quite easily please. Don't get me wrong I normally say to my mum/sister/ best friend 'is there anything you are really wanting/needing' for your birthday. If they can't think of anything I just pick something myself and feel the present is always gratefully received - I just kinda wish they would do the same with me, I dont feel a present should be something that is asked for.

joannie I completely agree. I dont like to ask because I dont know how much they want to spend or anything so I'd rather just say money that way its up to them how much. Spa breaks I get free anyway and not really anyone I want to go see in concert at mo, dont read books...

4getmenot - even if on the day they were just to say was not sure what to get you so treat yourself to something and just give me money!! My mum was in a huff yesterday I am sure cause I could not just tell her something. I love getting treatments at the beauticians and is always nicer if someone has paid for it so I happened to mention that I do have a money off voucher to go towards something so I think she is now going to give me some money to make up the difference.
