If sentence as been passed by the judge against a youth, but the court failed to advise the judge regarding DTO's subsequently the judge tells the yout he has 6 weeks left on his sentence taking off his tim already served. Then a phone call to his mothr stating thee has been a mistake on the courts part and the youth is to re attend court for the DTO, can the extend the sentence and issue a new one.
Sorry, dalmatian, but you shouldn't assume that everyone will know what a DTO is? I'm guessing that the O stands for Order? What about the D and the T, please?
Sorry, but I'm also a little confused here. As I read your post, Dalmatian1, it appears most likely that the judge has recognised that he's inadvertently passed a sentence outside those which the judicial system restricts him to. So he's now required to re-sentence the offender within the correct guidelines. It seems more likely that he'll impose a lesser penalty (or one which is effectively the same but simply worded differently) than a greater one.
