Just watched the above program last night (Monday)on Discovery Channel on Freeview and there was some fantastic slide guitar and harmonica playing in the background most of the way through. Anybody any idea who it was? My nearest guess would be Lynyrd Skynyrd but I only have the one album of theirs and its not that one!

Was 'Southern Chopper' the name of the programme?

I didn't see it, and have no idea what it was about. But they may be trying to allude to a film called 'Southern Comfort' (about a group of G.I.'s on exercise in the Everglades who tangle with some local Cajuns in a Deliverance-esque way.) The music in that film was done by Ry Cooder, who plays some mean and moody, atmospheric slide guitar.

Ry Cooder ?
