MM Links Solutions June 2009 [Week 3]

The third week in the reign of Don Corleone brought about a lock-out with The Godfather having to go for Plan B to complete the launch. I can now disclose his chosen links under the theme of Commuting as:

INNER Tube
Civil ENGINEER
ROOM Service
PENCIL Point

This week, the Shrubbery Squad were right on the money!

The game got off to a great start with Entrant #2 saw through the game plan with his x-ray eyes and plumped for CIVIL ENGINEER for TWO POINTS. He was immediately followed by Jools with INNER TUBE to build on her success last weekend. At 09.03am, cliffyg ordered ROOM SERVICE as Entrant #12. This only goes to show how hotly contested the opening is!

The next three were Dinkypuzzled, seekeerz & miss meg, each with a repeated link word within the time limit and each scoring TWO POINTS. They were followed by grannydi sharpening her PENCIL POINT (for the final hit and the last TWO POINTS). There then followed a long string of zero-scorers with a scattering of Four Entrants picking up a solitary point!

In a low-scoring game (such as this one) I tend to pick out the person who finds the fourth and final Hit. Consequently, I nominate grannydi as
HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK!

One point before we look at �the scores on the doors�, jobjockey gave one prediction as �Toothpaste Tube� with 10 letters! DO always check that your word lengths lie between 4 and 8 or you�ll be wasting a guess.

THREE POINTS: seekeerz
Thirteen others are on TWO POINTS and six others are on ONE POINT.

Next weekend will be the last in the series for The Godfather.
Someone will stand out from the rest as a future leader.
