trauma after road rage attack
Can I sue someone for trauma after being the victim of a road rage attack?, The guy in question savagely kicked our car and damaged it then kicked in the drivers window and tried to punch my husband through the broken window. He called me something unmentionable( on here) his language was vile. I have since the incident been unable to sleep properly and I am afraid to drive the car and just hate going out in the car any more , Every time a motorcycle passes us I just freak out . I am a basket case , the doctor has given me sleeping pills to help me sleep, but even they don't seem to help I just feel so stressed .

My husband was let out and the police and solicitor believed him because my statement and his were the same almost word for word, and the police arrived as it was still all going on, so we never could have collaborated a story even if we had wanted to. Not that we would have because at times like this it is always best to tell the truth as you get tied in knots in a court room if you don't . At least that is what my uncle always told me and he was a police CID officer . We have informed our insurance as well so we are waiting to hear from them. I am sick to my stomach though with it, I have never felt so scared in my life, when he smashed the window on the car and threw himself at my husband I thought he was going to knife him or something .

It seems that you havn't been physically injured so I doubt you would be able to sue.
It's sad that there are so many road users that are abusive these days, but he would probably put it down to 'stress' or something like that and most likely get away with it!
Let the insurance take care of the damage to your car.
The fear of it all will fade in time, but like you say, you will be nervous for a time to come.
I hope you feel better by it all soon.
