plague dogs

Does anyone remember a cartoon film in called "Plague Dogs".

I remember watchign as a kid.  Could've been early 80's. 

Was about 2 dogs who escape from a chemical testing lab.

I remember it vividly as a kid that I found it hard hitting!!

I read this book for the first time last year and it is one of the best books I have read for a long, long time.

I remember the film- very sad and harrowing, Cant for the life of me think what possessed my mum to let her impressional child watch this.....twisted woman.....lol!
