Hi All,

What are the job opportunities like for this degree and is there a good area of jobs that need these graduates? I have been offered a place on the 3rd year of this degree as i done well on HND Computing. I've done a little research but can anyone give me more detail please?

I have asked the lecturers but they're actually pretty vague when it comes to this.

Any information you can give on this degree would be of great help

I don't want to put you off, but you should read this:

You may need to think laterally about the skills you are acquiring and where else they could be used - it is a good discipline anyway, just in case. I do hope that you get something in your field!

I'm confused, what you are saying? From what i gather you are saying that Uni is not the way forward? Or u disagree with the course?

I am not saying either - all I am saying is make your own mind up! To help you , I saw that article yesterday and thought that it was something you should be aware of as it may be one of the reasons lecturers are being a bit vague. Having started your course, It is important that you complete it and complete it with the best grades you are able, because the competition is very hot out there. I am also saying, you need to think about the worst case scenario - if you got your qualification and can't find a job, what then? I would argue that you should, as I said, think laterally, what kind of skills have you developed and where else could you use them to find a job? Some people as it says in the article, use this course as the base to go and do another qualification which your computing may be useful for, where there are more jobs, such as accounting for example, or even the statistical side of consumer analysis, for example. Get the idea?
