Neat or *****. Rented this house privately for four years + never has the rent been a day late. Now the stove/ oven has packed up,belongs to the owner,part of "white goods" and now we are been turfed out because he does'nt want to spend money . Right or wrong??

I would have thought that it's wrong - do you have a contract? Could you offer to replace the stove yourself?

Ok,wrong column,but thank you for coming back to . Yes I can replaceit,but what to do with it if I do move? But more to the piont, can he do this?
you have an assured tenancy i assume, read your agreement, he has to give you notice if he is intending selling but not if he ust wants someone else in
unless he intends putting his family in or moving in himself I think
get him kneecapped.
the point of having a contract is that they can give you notice and you can give them notice - if he has given you the correct amount of notice then yes he can do it
