In fact chocolate actually kills the taste of wine apparently. instead he recommended some sort of liquer as a good accompamniment. unfortunately, i can't remember what it was, possibly due to me liking wine in large quantities and him having a collection of over 10,000 bottles!
I would not have any of these wines with chocolate i agree red is better. Montbaz is one of my faves to have after desesrt with cheese and white grapes (big juicy ones). It is also exceptional as a starter wine (serve in a tiny wine glass) with foie gras on toast...you cannot beat it! but i wouldn't serve foie gras at a dinner party if there were any vegitarians just in case.
