Hello Guys, thanks for your words of wisdom about this situation. I have tried and failed to hold this situation together. I love this man with everything that I have got but it is not enough to keep him. He just keeps saying that he needs a clean break from everything and that he is not sure how long it is going to take him to sort himself out, I have offered to give him a short term break but he says that is not fair because he doesnt know how long it will take him and by that time he feels it may be too late for us. I think many of you are right that he is giving me very clear signals that the relationship is over and yes I am having trouble excepting it because it was so good. So I dont feel like I have many options but to let him do what he wants at this time in his life, however hard im finding it! I only hope that one day soon he realises that we had something solid and has the courage to come and find me and get back in my life.

Good luck Furner, i couldnt imagine losing the love of my life in this way, maybe a break will make him realise he does want to be with you, lets hope so. Just try and stay positive, I hpoe it all works out.X

The old adage about if you love someone let them go, if you are meant to be together, they will return to you, is, in my opinion, very good advice. Nothing will frighten a man away faster than clinging on to him, so, although it is very hard, tell him you will wait, for a while but not for ever, then kiss him goodbye. If he comes back, then great, if he doesnt, then you have already lost him, im afraid.
