slooowww laptop

my laptop has recently slowed right down.
it takes ages to go through pages on the internet and videoes seem to stop and start when trying to watch on net.
whats causing this ive defraged ,
is there anything else i could do to speed things up.
i must admit the lap top is 5 years old.....

Rather than the fault of your laptop this is the fault of your broadband connection.

Find out what speed you are supposed to be getting.

Then visit a few broadband speedtest sites and see what they say (try it over different times of the day and on different sites to get an average)
