Ghostbusters
Sorry but this is gonna wreck heads!
Anybody remember the ghostbusters computer game? I don't remember the platform but it was either sega megadrive or amstrad cpc 464 cos they're all I had. I'm just trying to remember it cos a part of it finot my head recently and won't go away! It's where you save money or points for missions and buy a new car, I think it was red. You can also buy accessories for the car and stuff. If anyone remembers the platform or where to get a copy of it or even screenshots I'd be grateful. Sorry for annoying everyone!

Oh good God yes! I had an Amstrad CPC464 64K with a green screen! It sounds like you're referring to the first Ghostbusters game (the second took just over 6 days to load and used an incredible SIX different colours).
OK so you had like a grid (American "blocks") and you were the little "No Ghosts" sign. You moved this around the roads until you saw one building flashing. You moved up to this building and pressed something, then you'd be in the car (you could choose one of three and kit it out with that funny boxing glove on a spring that popped out and caught the ghost) and you could hoover up the ghosts on the way. Then you had two men either side of the front of the building and you had to fire your rays diagonally upwards to trap the slimey thing. Then set off the trap and grab it.
And all the ghosts converged to ZUUL! And the sometimes the Marshmallow Man trampled over everything. And the lock and key floated around and when they got to Zuul, you were on the final stage! And oh the memories!
I hope to God this is the game you're talking about now.
Strange how one minute I have no memory of this AT ALL ("recall" for the benefit of any Psychology students) but then realise I'd spent endless hours playing it ("recognition").
i owned it on a atari 800xl (now thats going back near enough 20 years) and it was a great game, chasing around the city in one of four cars then getting to the ghost where u had to walk your men in with the proton beams to catch the ghost!
The atari game had a cheat code u typed when u wanted unlimited money and i still remember it to this day, one of them things that has stuck forever, if it still works it is : 31222646
