Before i start, can i just say,love him him or loath him micheal jackson was one of the most entertaining artists of the last 30 years,putting the allegations of his personal life aside,im not really interested in that,i do find all the news clips,people sobbing and wailing etc very strange. Do you think, as i do, that alot of people now use celebrities as some sort of religion,and see these men and women as some sort of new gods in some way.

Yeah.. personally I couldn't stand Michael Jackson, musically or due to his personal life but it is a shame he's gone and it will be a loss to music.

No matter who my current celebrity 'crush' (for want of a better word) is, should they die I could never imagine myself outside their house wailing and sobbing.

What is wrong ith these people? They didn't know him, how can they mourn as if a member of their family had died? Get a grip for gods sake!!!

Yes Exactly deanomrs,these folk are putting these stars on pedestals and worshipping them,just like followers of elvis, john lennon etc..... and when these stars die it actually affects the followers a lot more then they realise often leaving them empty inside and lacking purpose in life.
