Can anyone tell me what is the usage difference between
"Raw Linseed Oil" and "Boiled Linseed Oil"

boiled linseed is thicker and more varnishy. For coating something you'd use boiled, if you want it to soak right into the wood, use raw

I had been using a mixture of both and white spirit to protect the garden furniture, that now solves the mystery of why some of the pieces are still tacky
