Sore back...

I keep getting pains in my back (around the spine area). Sometimes my neck is so sore I can't move it in a certain direction or sometimes it is in the bottom of my back and I get pains up my back when I move my legs. Its like a shooting type of pain and I've had them a few months. Would it be my posture that is causing this or something else?

TIA

It could be something as simple as you needing a new mattress for your bed.See your GP to make sure it is nothing medical,he or she may advise physiotherapy to help you.

Thanks for the advice daffy, I was thinking about going to docs but didn't want to waste their time if it was something trivial.
CAJ - I cant offer you an answer for the symptoms as described here, since there are many and quite varied reasons why they may be occuring. I did just want to follow up on one point you made though......

You made a comment very common amongst posters on here - that you didn,t want to waste the GPs time. Whilst this is a laudable attitude, in general terms, anything that causes a person pain, or social embarassment, or impacts on their quality of life sufficiently to warrant posting on a bulletin board is worth going to see your GP about. Only then can you get a proper assessment from someone medically qualified and able to interact with you face to face.

I hope you are able to get some help soon.
