matalan wages

sorry to bother you peeps in this category, but does anyone know what kind of wages they pay at matalan? is it minimum wage or slightly higher. just being nosey as my 15 year old son has applied for a summer /weekend job and they are being a bit coy about the amount. mtia x

It's also worth noting that there's no National Minimum Wage defined for young people who've not reached school leaving age. An employer can pay as much (or, more likely, as little) as they please.

i know, chris - i think its disgusting! fortunately he will be 16 in ten days. bless him, he's itching to get out there and earn some wedge (and i'll be happier if it makes it cheaper for me!) x

he will likely be on about �3.80 to �4.00 ph, He cannnot work more than 4 hours without a break either, which they could make an unpaid break too.
