No hot water pressure in shower??
4 Answers
House was build cheap in 1995 and water pressure generally has always been bad for warm/hot showers you struggle to wash properly.
Whole shower needed fixing due to bad tiles. So removed shower cubical, removed tiles, and plaster board soaked, guy who removed these things said he had to turn water supply off so he tried cold water feed to find hot water still feeding from hot water tank he couldn't find hot water feed so he left hot taps on to empty hot water tank, when the tank seemed to take for ages to empty we found hot water feed for whole house turned that off. I dont know if he really needed to do this really as all the shower pipes stayed in place etc maybe he worried about pipe accident when removing tiles resulting in leak?? That same day when he had removed tiles he turned hot and cold feeds to whole house back on.

But there is no hot water pressure or flow at all, if you turn the temp from cold to hot the cold comes out fine and the more hot you turn to the less the flow unitl nothing but a dribble of hot comes out.
I house plumbing is really antiquated even for a house built in 1995. In the airing cuboard from the hot water tank there is a separate pipe with goes off to each hot tap in the house, and all of them the valve is turned to 'open'.
Is it an air pocket even if theres still a tiny hot flow?
Is it something else, is it the thermostat on the shower? ...as it seems a flow issue more.
Any help would be great thanks, im going mad.

Hello Brinjal have you looked into airlocks I have been doing lots of research and found that an airlock within the hot water pipe system maybe the reason for this problem, there are lots of solutions on how to fix an airlock both on the website but also other DIY websites which give more detailed guides. I have tried what the guides say but unforunately there is still limited pressure, I can say though that the flow has slightly increased and the heat but a plumber is coming to fix it now as the property is rented.
Good luck though trying some of the airlock quick fixes. I have seen people on answer bank post back to thank people because it worked so give it a try!!
