I'm looking for information, hopefully images for the name of equipment or the sequence of operations for removing the wheels of a railway carriage or train.

I assume you mean "how do they change wheels when there are different gauges". The old way is to park the carriages on a bit of dual gauge track, jack all the carriages up, roll the bogies out from under them, put new bogies under and drop the carriages back down again. Heres a vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVlPDbRBuv0
This system is used at the Russia/China border among others and is slow and time consuming. Talgo have developed an automatic gauge changer. It works much quicker!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiH4kt14yGw
Here is an explanation http://www.talgo.es/eng.html
Hover over 'menu' top right, then click on 'products'. Click on the 'variable gauge' tab near the bottom, then click on each of the stages to see how it works.
