I want to tone up my bum, tum and legs (like most women lol) so I was planning on doing squats, lunges and sit ups etc. How many of each of these would I need to do a day to notice a difference? Plus does anyone have any good tips for toning up?

Thanks

You need to do as many 'sets' of 8 or 10 reps as you can manage of each exercise for each area without causing pain. So you would do 8/10 situps followed by 8/10 squats, followed by 8/10 lunges. Then repeat the process. These reps can be increased as your fitness improves.
Take up cycling?

Thanks daffy

I was thinking of cycling claud but would that only tone the bum and legs and not my tummy?
Cycling helps tighten up the abdominal muscles too.

Ahh, I didn't know that now! Well I shall don my helmet, knee and arm pads and get out cycling then (I am very accident prone)! How many miles should I do on a ride?

dO YOU LIVE ANY

(oops)

Do you live anywhere near the coast, CAJ ?

Can you run on the sand ?

No unfortunately not JJ, if I went to my nearest beach I'd be tripping over in all the seaweed and jumping over shopping trolleys lol! Plus my running is appalling, I can run about 2 minutes and then I'm wrecked!

I don't really want to lose any weight either (apart from round my boobs) as I'm the right weight just a bit wobbly!
Morning lovely CAJ xxx and all

A bit wobbly?........................you're not supposed to drink whilst exercising, CAJ....................thats for after!

You find a Mr Motivator or Busy Lizzie( ? ) video/dvd at a charity shop/car boot sale and you're off!!

If you were in my area i'd show you good workout .......................and i'm not being rude, ok?

....................well, maybe just a bit, eh?

what can is say?................just cant help it........i'm just a lovable, cuddly, cute, but frisky bear!

Good luck toning up, sweetheart!

In that case, if you want to "tone" (buns of steel!) then you should do bodypart specific exercise. Work your butt on its own. Find a few glutes exercises, do 4 sets of 8/10 reps of one, then move on to the next one. Concentrate on that bodypart before moving on to the next. To get good results, your butt really needs to "burn" at the end of your workout.

Good morning my favourite bear,

Hope you're well, the sun is shining on you and you're not missing your cub too much.

I need someone to show me - I've never had to exercise to tone up before! It would be an expensive session getting down to you though and I'd be too tempted to have one of those Belgian waffles that you told me all about!

Ah well, I think I'll get my bike out tonight, I'll report back tomorrow on how sore I am lol!

I want one of those big storms, we've had nothing here. No doubt they will all arrive in Dorset with torrential rain while I'm away there next week in a caravan lol!

I'll look up specific exercises and try them out mixed in with a bit of cycling! I'll keep you updated on my progress. I think I'll start after I get back from holidays!

found 2 really good things to tone up tum
1. lie flat on the floor, face up, lift your legs 90 degrees, then lower them so they are a few inches off the floor. you can really feel that working!

2. lie on the floor face down. lift you body up so you are lying on your lower arms and your toes (kinda like in press up position, but lower) then just stay there as long as you can. if you do it outside on the grass, you can look for four leafed clovers to take your mind off it. dont think that was explained very well, but oh well! lol

btw, what does lunges tone up?

swimming tones up E-V-E-R-T-H-I-N-G, pretty much lol
